Recently purchased this computer for my wife. She complains that the touch pad has a small sweet spot for tapping. It is unresponsive on the edges and responsiveness is intermittent as you move in from the edge. Is this normal? My laptop is a different brand and is responsive anywhere on the pad

Thank you for your message.
The touchpad responds to taps only a few mm away from the edges & this is by design.
However, the touchpad should respond to tapping just above the edges.
Please update the BIOS from this link http://dell.to/2vaqeYq
Download & save the touchpad driver here http://dell.to/2vXAMYb followed by the chipset driver dell.to/2v9NfKW , save to your desktop screen.
Restart the computer
Connect an external mouse.
Open device manager
Expand mice & other pointing devices
Right click on Dell touchpad & click on uninstall (check the box that says delete driver)
Do not restart the computer.
Install the saved touchpad driver.
Install the chipset driver & restart the computer.
