I cannot verify this but I have been led to believe that this issue has something to do with a recently released Windows update - Try uninstalling the last update and see if that makes a difference.
If not, Please install that update and let me know - That way, i won't make statements until I know for sure !! :)
At least I'm honest about it !!

Glad to say I finally solved it!

First, I followed Romzy's suggestion, deleted all the windows update and then installed the ones up until since it last worked fine (november 2006 with autopatcher)
That didn't seem to solve the problem and nothing did, so I gave up on it.

A friend of mine decided that one day he'd actually like to have a webcam conversation with me while I was in class. We started it, and MSN told me that I hadn't set up the webcam and mic, so I proceeded. That was when it happened: I got the TRAP_CAUSE_UNKNOWN error again.

With a new lead, I got home and uninstalled everything that had to do with the webcam: drivers and software. Sure enough, it worked! I started up Counter Strike and there wasn't any of the jittery sounds or anything of the sort, it was back to normal!

I did some more research and found out that it was a problem with the Mic on the webcam. Perhaps it was picking up sound whenever I started up Counterstrike and with every sound it picked up, it caused the sound in the game to jitter, and if bad enough, BSOD.

I didn't see it before, but stumbled upon the "Other Versions" link of the Logitech Integrated Camera driver and downloaded the A01 version.

Long story short, everything works again with the A01 driver from dell! Hopefully this will help anyone else encounters this problem

Interesting observation Darkz - I've come across issues where the Logitech Driver causes a Blue screen when installing Printers and certain Wireless Cards - I'm gonna add this to the list !!

the forum admin should , combine all questions about this, and dell should create a faq in the m1210 page for this problem...

i read a ton of posts before i found this one.  thanks guys.
