Hi GentleJohn,
It seems to be an issue with a corrupted driver. Try downloading the ST Microelectronic Driver from the following link: http://dell.to/10FsCl1
Follow the onscreen instructions to install the drivers. Please reboot the system and check.
Please share the findings.

I have a dell XPS L702 laptop. I received a message that my ST Micro screen Detection Sensor was not compatible with windows 7. What does that mean and what should I do about it?
