moncyelsy,

Usually clocks run slow when the bios battery is dying. I had a problem with my Inspiron B130 where it wouldn't sync with Internet Time. Here's what I had to do to get it working again. Make sure you make copies of any files and folders that you cannot afford to loose. This should be a normal practice.

Insert the Operating system disks and restart the computer.

Press any key to boot from CD.

Choose install

Do the agreement.

Now choose repair. Leave the disk in until you see the Welcome screen.

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

Get all the Windows Updates again, especially .net framework, which is needed to run many applications. Also make sure to get the latest Java.

It it's running fast, quick hurry up and catch it. LOL

sorry couldn't resist.

In all seriousness, I would be concerned about the bios.  If the OS reinstall doesn't do the trick I would want to replace the mobo.
