Thanks for the response but that's not it, the SSD isn't currently physically installed but the two entries remain. I even tried it with neither drive installed and the two entries were still there. I tried flashing the BIOS hoping that it would revert to it's original state but it stayed the same.

I think I'm following what you did and what it sounds like is the BIOS wants you to chose the boot drive because it detects 2 operating systems on 2 different drives. The new would be the one on the SSD and the original would be on the HHD. It sounds like the simple answer would be to change the BIOS setting to boot from the SSD and after you get your system running to delete the data on the HHD containing the old version of windows.

It's not much of an answer but I hope it helps.

I managed to remove the offending entry, I used EasyUEFI if anyone's interested.
