XPS 1530 Question
I just ordered a new XPS 1530 Laptop on December 3rd (won't receive it until the day after Christmas, can you believe it...:emotion-39:), but I have a question about it.
I chose the BD/DVD/CD writer drive and am hoping to be able to link my new laptop to the new HDTV that I'm also getting for Christmas this year. I know it can be linked with a VGA and audio cable, but I was wondering if it has a HDMI port. I know HDMI would allow for a lot better picture. I have the cables needed to link it the other way, but just wanted to find out if I had any other options.

I'm not sure what you mean by that statement Steve, because HDMI can handle both digital video and audio signals?

The M1530 indeed has HDMI and will do audio. However, for audio you need to go to Playback Devices (right click on the speaker) and set the audio to HDMI. Set it back when you need to.

Yes, it does have an HDMI connection. However it does not handle the sound. You need to run your sound through the sound of the laptop.

I've seen other posts where XPS 1530 users were talking about their HDMI connection and the audio/video feed. So I suppose that all XPS 1530s would come with a HDMI port (especially those with a BD player). I knew that HDMIs handled both audio and video, I just assumed when Steve said what he did that it didn't work with the laptop. Thanks RealFireblade for correcting that. Maybe I can take my audio cables back to Walmart...lol.
Now if only my laptop will get here. It has been over three weeks since I ordered it and it hasn't even shipped yet. I REALLY hope that Dell does gets it out tomorrow like they stated and UPS can get it too me by Christmas Eve. Somehow I wonder though, especially since I can't get Dell to answer any emails...UG!! Anyway...
