100% flash progress without progress
I installed a fresh MS Windows 10 and after that SupportAssist on a brand new Dell Precision 7540. Hoping to turn into a dual boot configuration.
SupportAssist started a bios update and this bios update got stuck somehow. The screen shows.
- Updating your firmware
- Do not power down your system
- Flash progress 100%
- Updating System BIOS with Bios Guard
I cannot turn it off. I can press power down for minutes, nothing happens. The battery cannot be removed I think without opening the system.
Is this brand new laptop dead meat now? I only had it for a few days. Why does Dell do Bios updates this way? This doesn't make sense. Why would you suggest BIOS updates that are untested and not working?

Follow up: I got a message from Dell that they sent me a private message. They wanted to get more details to help with this issue. I thought, “OK I’ll be helpful”.
They wanted me to provide my email which I did. Then my computer details from a computer that was currently frozen. I thought Why am I jumping through hoops to answer your questions? #dellbotfail
