5490 bricked (not posting) after TPM update
Hi, desperately looking for help. (and warn others)
I ran the TPM update released on the 14th
DELLTPM_NPCT750_7.2.2.0_64_v3.exe
and laptop is bricked!!!
Bios version was latest 1.32.0..
All I get is black screen, not getting to Dell logo, and reboot about every 20sec.
No led error code (when pulling ram i get error code)
Pulled battery, tried esc+cntl bios recovery, ePSA, RTC reset, CMOS battery...
nothing, nada..
Any suggestions?

Go to this support page and follow the directions for a BIOS recovery.

@DELL-Cares
thanks.
Under your community profile is a hyperlink that says "private messages". But when i use that, i get redirected to the community home page? Do I need min number of posts?
Or do you mean follow you on X?(that makes no sense as it looses all context of this thread.. and introduces other handles).
Btw the instructions how to contact you in our signature seem outdated. (there is no contact me and "send this user a direct message" )

@OttoBufonto Open the DELL-Cares profile page now. You should see, "send this user a direct message" on the right.

@DELL-Chris M
I had this happen on TWO 5490s of mine. Dell needs to investigate this update ASAP. You've bricked two perfectly good laptops which I was setting up for a charity.

dear Dell bots
looks like your company is outdoing itself sweeping problems under the carpet.
just noticed a new version of the TPM firmware posted on the driver website.
But its not a new version its same version as in December, but new date, different filesize and hash...
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=419wn&oscode=wt64a&productcode=latitude-14-5490-laptop
no mention of any issues , as there is no mention of a broken release in the previous versions list .
This is deceptive and malicious , as there is no public acknowledgement of any issue and help for those affected, yet the package is quietly replaced... shame on Dell. (not that anyone cares or anything changes wrt my broken laptop, but i had to vent my frustration)
