Battery comunication error

Hello,

One of our Dell Latitude E7270 laptops, last week started not to work without charger or docking station. I tested it out with PSA test and it said: The battery is not installed. In BIOS battery information are said, that Health: Comumnication Error battery indicator light are blinking fastly in orange.

When booted in Windows, in battery information are writen that battery are fully charged.

Googled and tried solutions for some hours, but nothing like Battery reset, BIOS update etc. don't work and can't find exactly the same problem in inthernet. Mostly, when there are problems with battery, windows shows it aswell.

Any suggestions to try and what can help?

Best regards,
Karlis

Yes, it's original battery. It's looks good and before this issue computer worked on battery for about 4 hours when browsing internet. Well, I called Dell support, as laptop have Prosupport and today repair specialist will come and try to repair it. Whet it will be done, I will post, what was the solution for this problem!

Hello Booo_kat,

I am glad an engineer has been called out already. This could be either a faulty battery cable or motherboard connector. Have you tried swapping the battery with a working machine? That should help you isolate the faulty component.

Should you need any further help, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

Service specialist was at our office on friday. He changed motherboard and baterry cable. That doesn't help and we tested out with battery from other computer. That helped, so the battery are faulty and it needs to be replaced!

Help me understand this:

1) Complaint is about a power/battery related issue.
2) Dell's service technician replaces motherboard and battery cable with no success.
3) Dell's service technician now tests laptop with a different battery and determines it is the battery after all.

What's wrong with this picture?
Who trains these technicians or "engineers" as DELL-Siba P calls them?
