BIOS update failed from A08 to A09

Hello guys,

I have a problem updating my Dell Latitude E6410 BIOS from A08 to A09. I initially wanted to update to A10 Bios but i must upgrade to A09 first. So I downloaded a GXa_A09 file, the only one i saw on the Dell support site, which i ran. It  showed Flash BIOS update Program-version A09 and gave me the error statement " Cannot run under a protected environment". I don't know what that means and what to do. I had earlier tried to run the A10 Bios a few times but it didn't work. How ever I tried running P02 bios which worked and nothing changed i don;t even know what it was for.

what can I do that will actually work? It seems like for this particular model can't upgrade above the A08. Waiting to try the different options you all give.

thanks

Hi jayjay122,

Latest version available in Dell support website is A10 have you tried upgrading from A08 to A010 what is the error you get if you try this step? You can check for all the BIOS versions available for Latitude E6410 model in the given link https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/latitude-e6410/drivers.

As you get an error " Cannot run under a protected environment" while upgrading the firmware inside the operating system. Can you try upgrading from the safe mode with networking? In order to boot in safe mode for Windows 10 follow the link https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln306359/how-to-boot-to-safe-mode-in-windows-10?lang=en

For Windows 7 you can restart the system and start tapping F8 when you see the Dell logo.

Do reach out over PM if you need any further help.
