Dell 7400 AX200 wireless adapter problems
Seriously, what is the problem with the Intell AX200 adapter in the Dell 7400?
We have seen multiple instances where the Intel AX200 wireless adapter stops working and won't start. Removing and reinstalling the driver does not help.
I have a guy with a brand new laptop that he's had for a week, WiFi stopped working this morning and no amount of traditional troubleshooting was helpful.
We're seeing this frequently on the Dell 7400 and the HP counterpart that has the AX200 card.
Most of the time, the 'fix' is to go directly to Intel's website and download the latest driver. Unfortunately for this customer, it did not work. Suggestions for driver updates haven't been helpful. I've tried the latest Dell recommended drive from June 30th (21.90.3) and a newer version from Intel website (v 21.110.1).
I should also mention that all the other hardware drivers, firmware and BIOS updates had already been applied when the laptop was imaged at our home office.
The following error presents in device manager:
"this device cannot start (Code 10)"
I've tried booting into safe mode to delete and reinstall the driver but that generates another error "windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (code 37)".
Another suggestion was to power the system down completely for 'a few minutes' with no external power source connected. After we did this, twice, it finally started working.
The fact that we are seeing this with both Dell and HP laptops leads me to believe this isn't strictly a Dell issue.
I'm curious if anyone else has run into this issue.
As of today, our machines are being deployed with Windows 10 1803.

We have a handful of machines - Windows 10 Enterprise N, 1909 build 18363.959 with no issues. Device manager Driver for Wifi 6 AX200 160MHz reports Intel, 5/4/2020 version 21.90.3.2.
To be honest the wifi range is not very impressive, but the AX 5GHz has been working well. Throughput on 2.4GHz is not so great.
I know this is not your question, but just thought I would mention it. No reliability issues at all on cards.

Yeah, the problem is, you want the service tag # on one computer. This is not limited to one computer. It's a widespread issue on our E7400 laptops.

I had this same exact issue this week. Had to walk the user through going to the BIOS and disabling all the wireless devices, saving, exit, the shut down and re-enabling them again. IT WORKED

Was there ever a resolution for this? I am having this issue on Latitude 5500's with the AX200. The problem is hard to replicate and therefore also hard to troubleshoot.

Dell support was not helpful during this annoying problem and I never found the exact fix, but we are no longer having the issue in the frequency it once was occuring
I updated the Wifi drivers from Intel and installed other updates from Dell.
We used group policy to disable "Allow network connectivity during standby mode(both plugged in and on battery)." I think that policy is changed a bit now.
After doing those things we have only had a couple of instances where the Wifi adapter disappeared. To get the Wifi adapter to show up again the laptops had to be completely shut down by holding the power button for about 30 seconds.

Your 30 Second Trick Worked!. My Wireless adapter disappeared and couldnt figure it out. After your suggestion, i reset and its back. Thank you!!

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series and I have tried this chip in and only the bluetooth works.
What is interesting is what wifi cards have been in various laptops of the series. Either the QCNFA35 or QCN9377. If you were to put into a search engine 'Next upgrade from a QCNFA35', it'lk give the result of an AX200NGW but if you put in 'Next upgrade to a QCN9377' then it would say QCA6174. Therefore I ordered the AX200 and QCA6174A. Fitted the AX200 and only the bluetooth worked but no wifi so put in the QCA6174 and it worked perfectly. NOTE: That on another site, the QCNFA35 was in a table of other wifi cards, the QCN9377 was the next one up. Of course, you want 867 meg download and so the 6174A is suitable.

Dell Latitude 7400 – WiFi Disconnects 1–2 Times Daily (Windows 11) – Need Permanent Solution.
Hello,
I am using a Dell Latitude 7400 (Windows 11) and I have been facing a very annoying WiFi issue for the past few days.
Problems:
WiFi connects normally, but randomly disconnects 1–2 times a day
Sometimes the WiFi icon completely disappears
Sometimes the WiFi icon is visible, but no available networks are found, even though WiFi networks are nearby (“Not Found / No Networks Available”)
Internet becomes very unstable and slow
Often I need to restart the laptop to temporarily fix the issue
What I have tried:
Reinstalling WiFi driver
Network reset
Windows updates
Restarting the router
However, the problem still persists.
If anyone knows a permanent and effective solution, please help.

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series to a qcn6144 as there were no other intel WiFi cards that did WiFi 6. The AX200 I had, only worked on Bluetooth only. Later on I decided to use the TP-link nano usb adapters and they worked fine. The only reason for that was because I ordered about 4 AX200s with the same issue then moved to the QCNs and whilst the other laptops works and some physical connector issues, I binned the idea of changing such fiddly things along with unreliable Chinese imports. So yea my intel AX200, the QCN6144 all came from China but na. A set that worked on Bluetooth, if I could connect the leads to the QCN that were the right diameter then that's fine, it'll work but the next chip didn't because I find that the diameter of the WiFi plug was the same diameter of the WiFi card socket. And I can't go to a US vendor or find a certified intel parts distributor to purchase off them. There is some Chinese fakery going on. I bought an HP dashcam, a Western Digital SSD, neither were recognised by the manufacturer.
