Dell Latitude 3410 doesn't recognize external microphone
Hello everyone, my problem is the following: I bought a Dell Latitude 3410 2 months ago and since I bought it I have this problem which does not detect an external microphone... I already uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek drivers, also Waves Maxx Audio and Dell Optimizer.
I have the latest sound drivers from the official page but the microphone doesn't work. Also if I disconnect the headset it no longer detects it again but i have a temporary solutionfor that. Doyou know what could be the solution?

Sorry, this is the link: https://www.dell.com/support/home/es-es/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=t880v&oscode=wt64a&productcode=latitude-14-3410-laptop
I thought the other one was correct but isn't compatible with Dell Latitude 3410, so when you install it, the driver doesn't do nothing. Was my bad.

Been having the same issue. It's like some magic combination of MaxxAudio and the Realtek drivers gets it to work. Even then, audio quality is questionable.
Come on Dell, this is a known issue. Get WavesMaxx to fix it or Realtek to work without the app.

And one more thingy...
If RealTek Audio is missing from Device Manager or is marked with a red X, and/or ISST is listed as the Output device on the Windows Sound screen, this probably happened because Windows Updates has installed ISST (Intel Smart Sound Technology) before the Realtek Audio driver.

Is the mic enabled on the Windows Sound screen and do apps have permission to use it?
Be sure to scroll down and select apps to have permission to use the mic.
The mic also has to be enabled on the Waves control panel too.

Thank you for answer but i already found a solution. It was buying and external mic but with USB connection because i think the problem is the 3.5 mm jack only recognize audio, don't matter what you do. And also i use an old version of realtek because with the newest when i unplug the headset it don't recognize the audio again. So i use this version: R2.82 and it is solved. Anyways thanks for answer again.

EASIER SOLUTION HERE: Download this driver from intel: https://www.intel.la/content/www/xl/es/download/19706/realtek-high-definition-audio-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit-and-windows-11-for-the-11th-generation-intel-nuc11phki7c.html and after you install it reboot your computer and now you will have the realtek icon tray, it will recognize headset with mic and you can plug and unplug may times as you want. The Problem is solved after 8 months haha but better late than never.
