Dell Latitude D505 CPU Upgrade (2)
Hi!
I recently installed the 2.13 GHz Intel Pentium M 770 processor (Dothan) on a DELL Latitude D505 model PP10L notebook, but I don't know why it hangs on the maximum frequency of 1.6 GHz of the previously installed Pentium M processor (Banias). What can I do to get the maximum frequency performance of the new processor? Thanks for the attention.

That CPU is designed for a 533 MHz frontside bus with a multiplier of 4 (2133/533).
You're running it on a system having only a 400 MHz frontside bus -- multiplied by 4, that's 1600 MHz or 1.6 GHz.
This is completely normal -- your system doesn't support the bus speed the CPU requires.

Then, it is probably better the Pentium M 765, or not?
