Dell latitude d531 battery problem

I have a d531 that has been powered off for years and the battery wont charge.

and I don’t know how to fix it any ideas?

and no I don’t want to buy a new battery cuz of money problems.

help

D531 Laptop and battery is end of life, Suggesting you to upgrade to new one

oh and maybe this will help the bios won’t recognize the ac adapter

Looks like you are using 2 batteries.  REMOVE the secondary battery. THEN test to see if it charges.

I  had the exact same problem  removing the battery in the cdrom slot allowed the main battery to be recognized and charge.  I then removed the  main battery to charge the secondary battery.  Once they are both charged I only insert the secondary battery when the main battery is depleted and I remove the main battery before inserting the secondary.  This is working for me just fine for the last few years.

AliAF dude PLEASE respect the statment this person does NOT have the funds to replace hardware.  Ignoring that need is just not right.. Be a nice to people.
