Dell latitude E5570 memory upgrade not detected.
Hi,
I hope someone can help me with a compatibility issue I have when attempting to upgrade the RAM in my Dell Latitude E5570 Laptop from 8Gb (2 modules) to 16Gb.
I used the Crucial Scan tool to analyse my laptop and it produced the following as being compatible with my computer.
Crucial 16GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM CT16G4SFD824A
Unfortunately, it was out of stock at Crucial, so I bought locally from one of Crucial’s recommended suppliers, Amazon.
When I fitted it to my computer it indicated that I had “invalid memory installed” (the lights flash with 2 orange and 5 white).
As far as I can determine, it’s the same as that recommended in the Crucial website.
I am at a loss to understand what's wrong with this but perhaps I'm missing something with the exact type of memory that’s suitable for my Laptop, and I can find no settings in BIOS that are appropriate.
I will be grateful for whatever guidance anyone can provide me with as, at the moment, I’m about £60 out of pocket for a product that is useless to me.
The following is an extract from the Technical specifications in the Dell Latitude E5570 Owner’s Manual:-
Memory specifications
Feature Specification
Memory connector Two DIMMS slots
Memory capacity 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB
Memory type DDR4 SDRAM
Speed 2133 MHz
Minimum memory 4 GB
Maximum memory 32 GB

Doesn't Amazon UK offer free return?

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, as I currently in Spain, I bought from Amazon ES. As my Spanish is very limited, I think it might be difficult, but I will consider it if I can't resolve the problem, which is my preferred option.
Anyone else with any thoughts?
