Dell Latitude e6420 hdd not detected

Question

I changed the hdd and its still not detected.  also ran windows bootable USB to go through install process and the HDD is not detected there either.

Hi

Sometimes the BIOS needs clearing, and dis-connecting the batterie(s) for a while, and restarting with them dis-connected can initiate things.

Also the format, Legacy/MBR - Secure/GPT can be a factor.

Can you confirm that the detection is there in the BIOS?

The OS does not detect the HDD.

What spec HDD was removed and what is the replacement?
