Dell Latitude E6430 CPU Switch
Contemplating getting a better CPU for the Latitude and the current one I have is the i5-3360m in a PGA socket.
Would it be able to take the i7-3632QM since it has similar connections? Both are FCPGA988, 37.5x37.5mm, and are 35W TDP.
Or if possible, can this particular version handle the 45W i7-3630QM processor or even the i7-3740QM in some other E6430s?
Thanks!

Welcome to the Dell Community @Bretrr
I just tested the i7-3720QM and the i7-3740QM in an E6530 and worked just fine.

I can test an E6430 next Monday if you want.

Thanks for the reply!
I'd appreciate it a lot if you could. My only concerns are if there's different construction in the E6430s that came with i7s and 45W processors and this one that came with a 35W by default. From what I read, the mobos can be different from model to model but if there's no problems with overheating or power issues with a 45W - I'll definitely go for the 3740QM.
e; I've also been reading that the chipset is also compatible with the 3840QM and 3940XM - any thoughts on those as well?
