Dell latitude E6430 CPU Upgrade Question

Hello,

I have a dell latitude E6430, with a CPU currently running intel i5-3340M

I am wondering if there is a list of compatible cpu I could upgrade to or where I could find it.

I have seen some compatible CPU such as the intel i7-3720QM. I am wondering if such a cpu upgrade would be possible?

Thank you for the quick reply! I have actually reviewed that article before and I was just concerned because I would be jumping from dual core to quad core, with my desired upgrade.

Based on what I have read, the upgrade should be suitable as the parts are compatible correct?

No, the i5-6600K is a desktop processor.  It won't fit into a notebook CPU socket.

6 = Series

4 = 14" LCD size

3 = 3rd Gen CPU

So I would say, no you cannot use any 6th Gen CPU.
