Dell Latitude E6530 won’t turn on
I have a Dell Latitude E6530. I no longer had a hard drive or a cpu for it. It has 4 GB of RAM installed. So I bought a hard drive and an Intel Core I7-3740QM. This CPU is compatible according to everything I’ve read. After installing both, it won’t turn on. The power indicator comes on for a couple seconds then flickers back on. The CMOS battery is dead so I know I need to replace it, But that wouldn’t prevent it from booting. All that would do is the bios would just forget it settings. I’ve tried power resetting. I’ve tried reseating the CPU. The AC adapter is fine and is the correct output. Everything is connected. The motherboard looks fine. The laptop used to work back when I had the original CPU. But this new CPU should be fine though. Is it possible that it’s just not receiving enough power? Is the CPU in fact, not compatible? Is this because of the CMOS battery? How do I fix this? Here’s a video link of what’s happening. Video that popping sound you’re hearing is the power resetting on the laptop.

power down the system and disconnect the AC charger.
1) uninstall all RAM modules, connect the AC charger again and start the laptop
Pay attention to the blink code
Wiederherstellungs-Image gefunden, aber ungültig
Pls remember: the E6530 ist 12years old (or more ). Dont waste time and money for this machine. Grab a E5590/5591 witrh 8. gen CPU

I had a similar problem a while back. Try removing one component at a time. Remove one RAM module and try to start it. If that doesn't work, swap in the other RAM module. If it still doesn't work remove the WIFI card. Then try disconnecting the Bluetooth module. Still doesn't work? Remove the hard drive. I kept doing this until I removed the last item, the DVD drive. That was it. It fired right up. I reconnected/reinstalled every component with the exception of the DVD drive. It worked. I concluded that the DVD drive had an internal dead short that was preventing the computer from booting up. I found a used DVD drive on Ebay and installed it. I still use this machine every day. Great computer.
