Device Freeze issue

Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue with my Dell Latitude 7390 2-in-1 laptop.

The laptop suddenly freezes and shows this message:

“DeviceFreeze-283” “Provide passcode and press Enter to unlock”

I already:

  • Reinstalled Windows 11 completely
  • Deleted all partitions and performed a fresh install
  • Updated drivers
  • Checked BIOS

After reinstalling, the laptop works normally for some hours, but the same freeze screen appears again.

I also noticed that “Absolute / Computrace” is enabled in BIOS security settings.

Additional details:

  • Laptop does NOT freeze inside BIOS
  • BIOS works stable for more than 20 minutes
  • Issue only happens after booting into Windows

Does this mean the laptop is still enrolled in enterprise management or Absolute persistence?

Is there any official way to remove this lock if I have proof of ownership?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

If whomever you purchased the system from can't resolve the issue, return it to them for a refund.  No, there's nothing you can do to unlock the system -- whoever activated the freeze software needs to do that.
