Disable Screen Off when closing

Question

I have a Dell Latitude E6410.  Current OS: Windows 10 Pro 64Bit. From begining it had dispaly issue. sometimes, when I close and open the laptop cover, it will be black. Sometimes it comes back after few closing and opening. The frequency keep increasing over time and then almost unusable. It will work only with external monitor then. I had replaced screen and cable couple of time during the warrenty.  But the same cycles keep repeating. I was wondering, how laptop detects cover closing.  How can I disable that?  I want to keep it always on..  either a hardware change (removing the switch?) or a software one... Thanks a lot.. Joe

You need to go to "Settings" "System" then "Power and Sleep"

To the right click on "Additional Power Settings"

Then click on "Choose what closing the lid does"
