Does latitude 7480 work without a battery?
I have a latitude 7480 and the battery is inflated and I want to remove temporarily. Will my laptop still work without a battery?

Yes it will work like a desktop. And pull the swollen battery immediately before it causes further damage to the laptop. Dispose of it safely and carefully.

As JOcean says, remove it immediately. As long as it is installed, it may damage your laptop.
Please do not throw it in the garbage. Take it somewhere that it will be properly disposed of. In many places, stores such as Best Buy and Staples will accept old "tech" for proper disposal/recycling. A recycling depot may also accept old batteries.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Arka-cell
You should have no problems running the laptop on just the AC adapter.
Follow the manual guidelines to remove the battery.

Then follow Dell's guidelines for proper disposal of the old battery.

I can also approve, that it should definitely work without the Battery. We had in our company a few of the swollen ones. Our IT Department removed them then and they could use it just like a "desktop" pc.
All the best.

It is possible that the adapter is not working properly. If possible try another adapter. At around 6 years old adapters can fail. You can try a reset. Disconnect the battery and adapter. Then press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again. If that does not help then it may be a problem with the DC jack on the system. Did you notice any problems with the system such as the adapter not recognized?
