E7470 - can I replace my non-backlit keyboard with a backlit one
Latitude E7470
I have a Dell Latitude E7470 without the backlit keyboard or palmrest. I've noticed that there are 2 different types of backlit keyboards for the E7470. I have attached pics of the 2 different types. My laptop (1) keyboard isn't backlit but looks exactly like the pics labeled (1). The keyboard labeled (1) is however on sale as backlit. Would it be compatible with my laptop? The pics labeled (2) are the second type of E7470 with the palmrest and backlit keyboard. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. What I don't understand is that both the keyboards in the images are backlit even though they look different (yet are both for the E7470). The keyboard named (1) IS backlit, but without pointing stick and no added buttons. It looks exactly like my current keyboard which is non-backlit. That's why I thought it might be possible to replace mine for keyboard named (1).
Here's the ad of the backlit keyboard that looks like mine: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/144731536216

Those keyboards will not interchange -- if your system does not have the pointing stick or the added buttons above the touchpad, you cannot retrofit one that has those.

It is possible to replace like for like (i.e., the one without the track stick for the same, etc.). It is not possible to replace the model with the track stick in place of a system that doesn't have that option.

I've found a backlit keyboard on eBay that looks the same as my current keyboard.
I checked my motherboard and it looks like there's a connector available to connect the thinner of the 2 ribbons from the keyboard. I'm hoping that this is the connector to make the keyboard backlit.

Can anyone confirm that this is the correct connector? (Unfortunately the images aren't showing yet as they have yet to be moderated).
