You'll need to know the exact model number - dell.com/support. Enter your service tag and look up the original configuration, which will list the part number for the screen. A search for that will show the manufacturer and model number - you can then look up the manufacturer's spec sheet.
In the search bar on the lower-left of the task bar, enter System and select the System Information program. When it is running, on the left choose "Components" then "Display". It will provide you with the resolution. Possibly under "Inputs" it will tell you the touchscreen resolution. Here's to yours being: 1920x1080
That's a fail. Already tried that and it doesn't help.
My system original configuration information yields this:
391-BCFP : 14.0" QHD Touch (2560 x 1440) LCD with camera, WWAN,Carbon F iber - PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION QUANTITY F94N6 SRV.WIN8,TOUCH 1 X34F6 INFOJOUCH 1 7V12R HNG.CARLT,TOUCH,E7470 1 864KE Information,PLACEHOLDER PIECE-PART 1 F63M3 TRAY,USIM,E7470 1 D6D65 INFO,SWSI,LCD,14.0,TOUCH 1 8780G Assembly,Liquid Crystal Display,Hinge Up Display,14QH,Wide Area Network,TSP.BC14 1 7928W HNG,CAP,RT,TOUCH,E7470 1
Searching Dell for the assembly "391-BCFP" doesn't find any info that is relevant. There is some info on a display for the 7490- but it's not the same one since I have QHD and that one is FHD.
Searching Dell for "8780G" has no results returned at all.
per my OP, I already knew the resolution. I want all the OTHER specs. (And yes, I'd already tried your proposed solution, yielded nothing useful beyond resolution.)
Apologies. Not HD, not FHD, but QHD 2560x1440. Sweet. Why do you wish to know this information? If it is to find a replacement because it is broken, you can find what you need on ebay easily enough. If you really want design info on the lcd panel, you can always disassemble your display, and you're likely to find enough identifying information on the back of the panel itself to research it to the level that you desire.
It looks like the entire assembly has a part number -- if you really want the specs, you'll need to get the model number of the LCD screen from the back of the panel itself.
