Does this happen instantly after booting up? Also does this happen to every Latitude 5410 model?

Might be a fan issue, but I also saw that all your cores are at 4 GHz.

Update Windows and the BIOS(if they aren't already at the newest version) .

all drivers, windows and bios are up to date from the Dell site

This happens when you login into windows and start launching an apps specifically with Google maps

Even with minimal use it generates very hot air.

Hi Tech Support, what is our resolution here?

I've had temperature issues with both 5410 models I've tested as well (original and exchange unit). CPU temperature can regularly get up to 95+ deg C under normal usage. Think there's a systemic problem with the model.

I have similar issue. The cooling fan does not work during boot up. When temperature sensors detect that CPU has high temperature already it is almost too late. During operation (after boot process) temperature is quite OK. I think a BIOS upgrade needed.

Same issue.

Throttle CPU to 85%

Definitely an issue with this model

Same problem. Has anyone found a work around? Does cpu throttling work?  The supplied PSU is 120w which suggests it’s a bit power hungry?

Dell just completely ignored all of this. The ticket has been open for 4 years already. I have the same issue. I think this is just an unlucky laptop model. I’ve encountered this problem in three of these laptops.

Kotvaz et al,

Did you see this (2025) page: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000130447/identifying-high-temperature-heat-thermal-concerns-fan-noise-on-dell-notebook-systems

Run AV and Malwarebytes.

Throttle down to75 % (windows 11 article).

Clearly there's an issue with overheating, probably with a lot of brands. The Latitude 5000 Series is probably affected more than most other Dell laptops but it is not limited to them. I have a vested interest cause I was about to pull the trigger on an Amazon 5410 after some research. Good model but for this issue. Please post if anyone has had success on limiting the heat/fan problem. I haven't given up on this model. It's solid.
