help with AMD linux drivers on 7424

has anyone been able to get the linux amdgpu drivers working on a 7424?  I recently installed a base RHEL 7.8 install.  while the install of amdgpu-pro drivers completed properly, the system locks up on boot.  almost gets to the login screen, but that's about it.  bios has been updated.  using amdgpu 20.20 linux drivers.
