How can I update the BIOS through linux?

Hello, I am running a latitude 5414. I want to update the bios, but the only tools I found are for Windows. I currently run Solus Linux. I have tried using the flash upgrade tool, but it seems not to recognize my sd card. Can anyone help me with this?

@FocalFossa0997  Try using a USB flash drive instead of an SD card.  The built-in flash upgrade tool that you can access from the F12 one-time boot menu accepts Windows EXE format BIOS updates.  But it might not recognize SD card readers.

Welcome to the Dell Community   @FocalFossa0997

Create a bootable USB drive using “Rufus”

https://rufus.ie/

Copy the BIOS update to the bootable USB drive you just created..

Insert USB drive, power-on and start tapping the “ F12 “ key.

Boot from USB and run the BIOS update.

After reboot test and post any results.

Best regards,

If the system is not already plugged into a power outlet, plug it in now: Reboot the system, and press F12 at the Dell splash screen.  Select the option to BIOS Flash Update. Navigate to your USB disk and select the BIOS you downloaded. Once the update has been completed, the system reboots automatically.
