Today, I received a DELL Latitude 3520.
How is the USB-C power adapter plug supposed to be connected to the Latitude's coaxial socket?
I don't get it …

It doesn't. Connect it to the USB-C port on the same side. Labeled #5 on the picture below.

Just for the sake of clarification: The manual doesn't get clear on this:
I wonder how this USB-C port is going to supply Power Delivery while it's being occupied by the power adapter itself.

Happy to help out! As for the power delivery, you can, as an alternative, purchase an adapter such as the one here at Parts-People and it plugs into the DC jack.
