Latitude 3510, broken hinge

So, after just over 2 years/4 months, my the left hinge has broken on my Dell Latitude 3510. Literally 1 month after the warranty expired! Last year I had to expand the warranty before the motherboard failed after just 1 year! That was a common fault which I had to pay for extended warranty to get fixed. After researching, it transpires that broken hinges on various Dell models are common, including Latitude, Inspiron and G3 models. This clearly shows this is not wear and tear, miss-use or accidental breakage, but very poor build quality. I had my last laptop, a Toshiba, for 8 years and it never had one issue. I've not been heavy handed in the slightest with laptop. I refuse point blank to pay for a repair that is Dells responsibility to rectify. A screw came away. I believe this is the hinge shaft screw but I can’t be certain until the back is removed.

Hi Adrian, I've res posted in the customer care forum as requested. I'd appreciate a prompt response thank you. I have gathered more evidence of Dell's poor build quality with the hinges since my first post.

Hi Raul, Yes, i got my issue fixed in the end. I compiled ever shred of evidence and argued point blank will Dell. They honered a free of charge repair in the end. Be persistant.
