Latitude 5320 BIOS QA issues
Just posting to vent my frustration with Dell's QA as it pertains to BIOS updates released this year. We've had 3 BIOS releases in just as many months for the 5320 series and only ONE of those was stable. Version 1.14.3 caused boot issues and was pulled after it began rolling out via DCU and bricking systems, and the recent 1.16.1 was just pulled after rolling out and breaking the integrated webcam.
Dell Command Update previously would not search for updates automatically until you opened the application and set your update preferences, but at some point that default behavior changed and the app searches for updates even if it's never been opened. There doesn't appear to be any command line install switches or GPO template to set any app preferences.
To others who are annoyed with the default DCU behavior, the following can be run via script (or a GPO registry preference can be created) to disable automatic update:
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\DELL\UpdateService\Clients\CommandUpdate\Preferences\Settings\Schedule /v ScheduleMode /t REG_SZ /d ManualUpdates /f
Latitudes are positioned toward the corporate market, and these recent BIOS bugs, along with the inability to manage (or at least document) software such as DCU, is inexcusable.

Echoing the 1.16.1 webcam issue as I've had it pop up like wildfire the past few days. Super annoying that a BIOS is pushed thru DCU with sometimes crippling issues. Couldn't they force a downgrade to the prior stable BIOS thru DCU as well instead of just pulling the bad version?
