Sometimes Dell reuses model numbers, making it difficult to know how old a model is. However, from what I can see your model is five years old. So, I'm guessing that you bought it used.

In that model, WWAN card (that's what the SIM card connects to, to provide WWAN/cellular service) was optional. Probably your laptop was not ordered with the WWAN option, so it doesn't have antenna or WWAN card.

If the laptop already has the WWAN antenna installed, then it's possible to install a WWAN card and get it functional. If the antenna is not present, then the job would not be trivial.

To install the WWAN antenna would require disassembling the display which, given that some parts are glued together and some are fragile, comes with a high risk of damage. Alternatively, you could replace the display with one containing the WWAN antenna.

For internal cards, this Dell page has information:
https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132397/installing-your-wireless-sim-card-and-activating-your-mobile-broadband-service

You can get external WWAN adapters that connect to a USB port. That would be a simpler solution than trying to install internal antenna and WWAN card.

Before buying anything, be certain you've read the part above about checking to make sure the antenna wiring is present for the WWAN card.  If not, the card is going to be useless -- and you cannot retrofit the antennas on most systems without replacing the display panel, making for a very expensive upgrade.
