Latitude 5490 Installing a second WLAN card
Latitude 5490
Hi people.
have a Latitude 5490 with a nvme pcie m2 drive, a WLAN/BT card and a WWAN card. I need a second WLAN adapter to connect to a diagnostic head via WiFi while still connected to the Web. The easy solution is a usb doggle but usually the easiest solutions in rarely the best. I was thinking of an internal card. The only available slot at the moment is the jsata next to jngff. I was wondering if I could connect a WLAN card there or, if this wasn't possible, to the WWAN slot (I don't really need WWAN capability).

The WWAN slot will physically take a WLAN card -- the range may not be ideal, as the antennas are designed for WWAN. Once past the hardware issues, come the possible driver issues, but those should be easy enough to work out.

Any chance with the jsata slot?
Also the WWAN slot is a Key-B slot,
but the WLAN card is a Key-A-E,
making a direct installation not possible.
Is there a WLAN key-B card or an adapter that will fit in the empty space?

No, to the Jsata connector -- that will work only with a SATA drive.
And while there are adapters that will allow converting B to A-E, whether you'll be able to fit one into the confined space inside the system is open to question. If you need a second WLAN card, a USB device is a much simpler solution.
