Latitude 7280 screen has green hue

A few weeks ago, my Latitude 7280 developed a green hue. This starts as soon as the Dell logo appears.

I did Windows and driver updates, checked for BIOS updates. The problem still exists. I also checked the ribbon cable connections were secure.

The picture is crystal clear and not distorted, but colour is way off.

My laptop is used at a desk, so its not subject to bumps and knocks.

I tried an external monitor and the colour is perfect, so must be the screen itself or connection.

Any ideas or suggestions? Is this likely the screen or cable?

If the screen diagnostics show the same hue, it's the display panel that needs to be replaced.

If the diagnostics show good images, it's either a display cable or a GPU issue.

Start with a screen diagnostic - hold the D key through powerup.

Do the test screens show the same fault, or are they OK?

Hi - sorry about the delayed reply.

I ran diagnostics, it does not pick up any issues.

The external monitors don't show a fault - their colours are perfect.

So, I assume its either the display itself, or the connector cable.

I wonder if there is a way to identify whether the screen or cable is faulty?

thanks

Well the laptop LCD image when running this diagnostic has the same green hue.

I am assuming the GPU is ok given the dual external monitors run perfectly.

So therefore likely the cable or LCD itself. Perhaps I will get a new cable to start as that's the cheaper option.
