Latitude 7390 audio jack issue

Im facing an issue with the audio jack pop up.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the specific driver for this laptop. Dell 7390 Windows 10. all updated.

When i plug in headphones or headsets, it doesn't recognize the insert. so it plays at a ridiculous sound. I have tested it on another 7390 and the pop up comes and if u select headphones or headset it plays as it should.

so the issue is Waves Maxx audio Pro is not picking up my insert into the headphone jack.

any assistances or fixes? will appreciate.

Assuming its not a hardware problem (that would require replacing motherboard) my only other suggestion is to reset (reinstall) back to original.

Have you reinstalled Waves MaxxAudio Pro?  If not, try that.  Install MaxxAudiio Pro, restart the PC (don't skip the restart) and then test.

Try this, reinstalling over existing can result in having same problem.

Uninstall both Realtek audio and MaxxAudio Pro.

Restart PC.

Reinstall Realtek audio, restart PC

Reinstall MaxxAudio Pro, restart PC

Test

Thank you, but still hasnt worked. do you perhaps have another solution? if maxx waves is open and i plug in my headphones the volume slider adjust itself meaning it know theres an input but doesnt bring up the pop up to select headphones or headset etc.. i have toggled between show pop and dont show pop up but still doesnt work.

Can you manually select the microphone, in the Settings/Sound?  This isn't a "fix' for the problem, just a possible workaround until a fix is found.

Since this is a Latitude, I assume a business application.  Do you have a corporate disc image that you can reload the machine?  I'm a  retired network and hardware help desk manager; reinstalling was always a last option, but something to consider if it worked initially.

I cannot manually select the jack mic, its greyed out meaning the PC doesnt know theres a headset with mic plugged in. its still using the Laptop mic. I dont have the reload disc, and im in a remote location minimal internet access.

Almost certain software issue.

Barring a Windows OS problem, its back to Realtek or MaxxAudio Pro.

Another suggestion, uninstall Realtek in the device manager and you should also get a popup about uninstalling driver, Select the option to also uninstall drivers.  Restart PC and install Realtek.

Did this work at one time?

The jack appears to be part of the motherboard, not a separate module like some, so that rules out a potential connector problem.
