Latitude D6410 horizontal flickering lines
My Dell Latitude E6410 has been working fine for years. Suddenly the screen has horizontal flickering lines. It only affects color fields, not white areas.
Tried diagnostic boot, same problem. Tried safe mode boot, same problem.
Tried downloading the video driver from Dell and clean installing it, same problem.
Any suggestions?

If the diagnostic boot was the screen built in self test (holding D through powerup), the screen needs to be replaced if the same fault showed there.

I hadn't known about Dell's built-in screen self-test. I tried it just now. It repeatedly cycled through a few different full-screen colors. I did NOT see the problem. I looked very closely and still did not see it.

Does this narrow the problem down to the motherboard?
If I replace the motherboard, to I need to get the same model number (G637N, 8885V, YH39C, HNGW4, etc.)? Or will any Latitude E5410 motherboard do?

According to Windows 10's System Info, this motherboard model number is:
0K42JR
That doesn't seem to be a common one based on what's on offer at eBay. Can any of the others be substituted?
The video display adapter is:
nVidia NVS 3100M

It appears there are two different motherboards. One has nVidia video chipset and one that has Intel.

If you were holding down the "D" key at power-up and the computer went through the diagnostic test(s) (and you did NOT see the horizontal lines), then the NVidia graphics adapter is probably defective. NVidia also has their own drivers for their products - - have you downloaded new driver(s) for the adapter, just to check? Also, if it turns out your motherboard is going south on you, check the Parts-People.com. This is a Dell only parts supplier.

After reading the last reply, I went to the E6410 to try the driver downloaded from nVidia, only to find that the flickering problem is gone.
