Removing the CMOS battery which sometimes corrects the problem may be the hint. I would suggest first of all replacing the CMOS battery with a brand new battery. Leave the old battery out of the system for 15 minutes before inserting the new battery. An HDD/SSD that sometimes is not detected is a classic CMOS battery symptom. CMOS batteries can be found at Parts-People here and also do a Google search at Amazon.
I have a couple of Latitudes around the same age as your 5570 and they both required CMOS batteries.
