Latitude E5570 touchpad gestures stop working after switch user
Hi everyone
I solved this one by myself but couldn't find any references to it on the net so I thought I would post it here to help anyone else who might have this problem in the future.
On my latitude E5570 I noticed that the touchpad gestures (two-finger scroll, pinch-zoom etc.) sometimes stopped working and didn't come back until a reboot. After a bit more investigation I discovered that they were only working for the last person to log in (e.g. log in as A, switch user and log in as B, then however many times you switch between them, only B can use touch gestures, however, if A logs out and back in again, then he can use touch gestures and B can't).
I was using alps alpine driver version 10.3201 (which I'm guessing was installed by SupportAssist). When I looked on the dell web site, the latest version listed was 10.2207, so I downloaded and installed that and the problem went away.
So I'm not sure whether this is a bug in the newer version, or whether it's just incompatible and SupportAssist upgraded when it shouldn't have done, but either way it's working now.

a) Press Windows and x key together and select Device Manager.
a) Locate the touchpad driver.
b) Right click on the Touchpad driver icon and click on “Update Driver software”.
c) Click on “Search automatically for Updated driver software” option.

Just signed up to this website to say thank you @Tim333 :) I have been suffering from this for so long but I couldn't find a solution before. Just downgraded to 10.2207 and the issue is resolved. Thanks!

Thank you so much @Tim333 ! I searched google for the dell download if alps alpine driver 10.2207, rebooted, and voila! This annoyance is now gone. Thank you for taking the time to post your findings. I had thought it was a lost cause (also thanks to bing co-pilot AI where I could describe the problem, and it brought me to your answer directly!
