Latitude E6540 2TB sshd

Good afternoon.

I have a Dell Latitude with a 500GB drive that I'd like to replace with a 1 or 2TB SSHD drive . Is there a compatibility list anywhere?

Thanks

Welcome to the Dell Community  @SteveTu

There is not a compatible list that I know of???

But looking at your Serial ATA firmware updates I see one for the ST1000LM014.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=ST1000LM014&_sacat=0&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=15

I use the same drive on my high end Panasonic CF-19 MK8's.

I am 100% sure that it would compatible with your system.

Best regards,

U2

NOTE: If you want I can pull an E6540 from the warehouse and test it Monday morning???

@U2CAMEB4ME

Thanks for the offer. I'm UK based and I think for the price I'd go for a https://www.scan.co.uk/products/2tb-seagate-st2000lx001-25-firecuda-sshd-8gb-cmlc-nand-sata-iii-6gb-s-5400rpm-128mb-cache-7-mm-heigh assuming that is also compatible!

What I find interesting is that you say you have E6540s in your warehouse - I was potentially looking at getting another (as I use Linux and the E6540 was recommended as being Linux 'friendly')  but I thought they'd reached end of life and weren't supplied any more?

@SteveTu

Yes that 2TB Cuda is compatable.

Its my personal warehouse not Dell's.

I recycle/refurbish Dell, IBM, Panasonic, Apple and HP laptops.

We pick the best for regional retailers and then ship containers of the other surplus to Hong Kong.
