Latitude E7270 shuts down immediately upon reaching login screen
Video is here- https://imgur.com/gSFHulF
This machine was working fine until last week, then this started. I cannot boot to the normal desktop, it 100% of the time will spontaneously do a graceful shut down within a few seconds of getting to the login screen. I think I've narrowed it down to some kind of driver or Windows Update issue but have no idea how to fix it, since it happens even immediately after clean install, see below.
- Machine is totally stable and runs forever in Safe Mode.
- I did a "clean boot" where all services in msconfig were disabled and all startup items in Task Manager were disabled, didn't help.
- Tried to Reset from the Repair GUI but it shuts off before I can get anywhere meaningful.
- Did a clean install (deleting all partitions) with the Windows 10 USB installer, Internet disconnected. Machine works great, plug in Internet, sucks down drivers and Updates. But after the first reboot it does the same shutdown behavior.
- Ran diagnostics from the F12 menu and everything passed
Any thoughts on how to fix this? The machine worked great until it didn't and I'd hate to junk it over this.

I booted into Safe Mode and disabled anything relating to the Intel Thermal Framework. Then was able to boot normally. I wasn't super happy with that because I didn't know for sure what the ramifications would be, but the machine ran perfectly after that. The "6897" update below was part of the problem...

You may try the following step to isolate the issue.
Restart the system, as soon as you see the Dell splash screen; keep tapping the 'F2' key multiple times (once every two seconds) which will take you to the 'BIOS' screen. Leave the system ON in the same screen for couple of hours and check if it shuts down.
If it doesn't shut down, updating the BIOS, Notebook System Software, Chipset and Video driver should fix the issue. The following links will help you download the necessary drivers.

Please connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS and do not use the system once the update is initiated and until the system restarts completely.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that I did update the BIOS already to the newest version, via USB thumb drive. The issue persists after that still.
How would I update the other drivers you mentioned if I can never get to the desktop?

Were you able to fix this issue? If so, how?

I also experienced the same thing. I have tried to reinstall OS but the problem still occurs. then I tried to reinstall it again but I didn't connect to the internet, and I downloaded all drivers and then installed them one by one. But when installing the driver I found the problem occurred after installing the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework. Does it have something to do with this driver?
additional information, I have also done diagnostics, and the results did not find anything problem.
please help to solve this problem. Thank You.

Yes, I specifically stated in my previous post that the issue was related to the Thermal Framework stuff.

yes that's right, but I have taken action by checking hardware devices (cpu fan and cpu thermal paste), the problem has been solved. Thank's.

One extra thing I did above all that has been said above was to replace the thermal paste on the heatsink that sits on the processor. This worked for me.
