ejn63 is absolutely spot on with that information. And if I may this Dell support page has further information. Note that Dell can list your system as stolen on your account but as ejn63 stated they have no way of tracking it.

The only way that's possible is if you have an active subscription to a tracking service like Computrace or Lojack for Laptops, or have installed something like Prey Project software.  Otherwise, it is impossible.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Delosss

Come on people. "Wrong"

No one here has heard of "Find My Device"???

Find and lock a lost Windows device:

That works if "find my device" was turned on.  If not, it won't work.

(I just looked at my Inspiron 5577 laptop and its not turned on).

I just checked 3 fresh W10 installs, on 3 different laptops and all 3 had the option turned on as default???

I have never turned it on, on any of my devices, yet they are all turned on.

Not sure what happened to yours.

Best regards,

Yep!!!   My Find My Device is OFF on all five of my Windows 10 laptops with clean installation.

Well then turn them on.

Yep!!! It still does not change the fact that the statement is wrong.

"The only way that's possible is if you have an active subscription to a tracking service like Computrace or Lojack for Laptops, or have installed something like Prey Project software.  Otherwise, it is impossible."

Thank you for your help in proving so.

ejn63, JOcean,

Since "Find My Device" is another option, should the solution posted be =

Find and lock a lost Windows device

If you have an active subscription to a tracking service like Computrace or Lojack for Laptops, or have installed something like Prey Project software.

Looks like during the new W11 install there is now the option to turn off "Find My Device"

Thats because with W10 and W11 it is set to on by "Default"

Best regards,

U2
