The article describes how you can declare a systems as lost or stolen to Dell, this will prevent any use of valid warranty or support until the 'flag' is removed and ownership confirmed.

For stolen systems, you are advised to contact your local police authority and file a police report, prior to calling Dell.

Required details before "Lost / Stolen' flag can be applied:

  • The Stolen System Service Tag / Express Service Code
  • Date of Theft
  • Date Theft Reported (if stolen in the first 30 days)
  • Police Case Reference Number and PDF or scan of report (if stolen in the first 30 days)
  • Name of Officer and Police Agency Name the Crime was Reported to (if stolen in the first 30 days)
  • Contact Name and Telephone (Person Reporting)
  • Police agency phone number
