Latitude E7450 Power Failure

Latitude E7450

When I plug in the charger the led charging light immediately goes out and the charger turns off. It’s like there is a short circuit or something. I've also tried putting it on without the battery using the original charger yet the laptop won't power on, please any idea?

Two things to check:  make sure there's no pin damage inside the USB ports.  If those look OK, replace the DC jack:

And if that doesn't solve the issue, the fault is with the system board, which you will need to replace.

If you're still having this problem, check this

One of these three capacitors can be shorted, I replace all three to be safe. It's a bit of a job to get to them, look online for disassembly instructions. It's not letting me attach a picture in this post to show exactly, but they're on the top surface of the main board under the shield and keyboard, just south of the fan, there's the numbers 1,2,3,4 just north of the capacitors

If you have a multimeter, measure across it will likely measure 0 ohms, but since they're in parallel, it will be hard to know which one until you remove each one.
