Latitude E7470 battery issue.

Hello all!

So a couple of months ago I replaced my battery (a Dell 55wh j60j5), with another one I purchased online. My original battery lasted for a year, give or take, so as expected the battery would need replacing. However the new battery I have already needs replacing (the flashing orange is occurring, as well as I have to keep it plugged in, in order for it to function). I assume a 3-month battery life is not normal. A reason this might have been the case is I rarely shut down my laptop instead I just use the power button to turn it off. Just curious before I purchase another battery is there anything that I can do, to prevent/fix this issue.

Kind Regards,

Jayden

Lots of fakes with batteries. If you cannot buy a battery from Dell or Dell Parts, remove the bad battery and use the adapter alone. A real battery should last 18-24 months.
