Latitude e7xxx Driver - Broadcom USH Driver for Swipe Sensor

Hi all,

I just upgraded my Latitude 7000 series from Win7 to Win 10 and cannot for the life of me get the swipe sensor working.

I downloaded the driver & firmware from dell's Broadcom USH Drivers page for the 7000 series Win10 (x64) and as per instructions attempted the firmware first.

after extracting the firmware contents, as per the readme txt, I should start the USHupgrade.exe but when I do I get the error that it was "unable to find the biddll.dll"

According to <this> post, I insured that I installed all the other drivers according to recommendations, and also installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64), all to no avail.

I then followed the steps in <this> post, but that did not help as there does not seem to be a driver installed, generic or otherwise, so there is no checkbox to "Delete the driver software for this device." So in the end, I clicked uninstall and rebooted, but still the same "no biddll.dll" error.

Any ideas how to get this working again would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ahhhhhghhh.

Ok the solution was simple. just ignore the Dell warning about installing the firmware first and just install the driver. After that the hardware is recognized and Windows Hello allows login with finger swipe.

In other words, ignore this message:
