Latitude, win32k power watchdog timeout, #2

I have two 3510 that are getting blue screen stop code "win32k power watchdog timeout" BSOD

I have already checked that all windows updates have been installed. All Dell updates have been installed using Command Update. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you! We have received the required details. We will work towards a resolution. You may receive assistance or suggestions from the community members as well.

We can see here that the issue is present on all vendors (Dell, ASUS, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface). This is still under investigation by us and Microsoft.

Please see this article from Microsoft: WIN32K POWER WATCHDOG TIMEOUT Error - Microsoft Community

This error often appears when the computer is unable to wake up an external display after sleeping. It may relate to a failure of the DDC signalling.

Do you have a desktop computer, laptop or a tablet? Is it plugged into an external display? Maybe using an old VGA connector or adapter? If you do please unplug it first.

My suggestion is disabled speep funtion.

hi @DELL-Cares what's your update please?  we have a batch of 5 laptops deployed across remote areas of the Pacific, all suffering this issue, and all wasting our team's time.  it's been over 6 months, where is Dell's care?

I had the same problem with a Latitude 5400. After updating everything, Windows and Dell Command Update, I swapped drives with another 5400. That forced both laptops to redetect hardware and both laptops sleep modes started working correctly. There's probably a less dramatic way to force hardware redetection?

Also, the balky laptop had a bloated battery that BIOS incorrectly rated "Excellent". Swapping in a good battery didn't fix the BSOD. Dell is sending me a replacement battery.

Need immediate fix please. Thanks.

@EKT-jkt I know this is an old post but I had a similar problem with bluescreen related power watchdog timeouts and disabling Displayport 1.2 on both monitors appears to have finally fixed the issue for me. It appears Multi-Stream Technology (MST) DP daisy chaining process can  trigger this failure. The MST feature must be disabled at the end of the chain. This means you must disable DP version 1.2 on both of the external monitors that are attached to the docking station. (Connecting to the dock using DP 1.2 automatically starts the MST feature at the dock.)  See this Dell knowledge base article for details https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000215247/intermittent-crash-after-wake-from-sleep-on-latitude-7430-laptop-with-dual-u2415-displays

hope this helps others

same problem, but is different bc is either the computer fails to wake up or the graphic card stops working and the window operating system blocks it self from accessing the graphic card
