limited ssd speed
Latitude 5490
Hello, I recently bought a brand new dell latitude 5490, I immediately changed the SSD (nvme pcie 4.0).But I notice that the speed of the SSD is limited to 1780MB/s when it should output 2.5 times more. After my research, I realize that the port supports PCIe 3.0. So I bought a PCIe 3.0 SSD but still the same, the power is limited.

The storage specs for Latitude 5490 indicates M.2 2280 NVMe SSD is limited to PCIe x2, see screenshot below.

ok, and so there is no way to squeeze the power out of a pcie 3x4. it's still a shame

For boot drive and programs, you may not see the different in speed. Only when use it for files transfer, you will see only half the speed.
