Missing touchpad on Latitude 5410

Hello,

I have a problem that there is no Touchpad option under the Settings > Devices > "Touchpad" | missing!

Since it's missing therefore I can't make any changes to the Touchpad settings. I installed Dell Command | Update and installed all the missing drivers and updated to the latest BIOS but still missing.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Bob

I found the reason why I don't see the Touchpad option.

If no user login to the laptop and I RDP to it, the Touchpad setting will not be there.

If I physically at the system and login, the Touchpad option is there, and then if I RDP to the system, the option still remain there.

The user must be login first at the machine!

Thank you for all your help!

Should show in Device Manager under "Mice and other pointing devices".

Go to the support site 5410 Drivers

Either click on Check for Updates, or explicitly use the Find Drivers drop-down, for Keyword enter "touchpad". This is what I see:Capture.JPG

I've had problems on a few Dell laptops using Dell Command Update. I much prefer using the "Check for Updates" tool, or explicitly looking for a driver.

Did you clone the drive or move the drive from another system with an existing Windows install? I have experienced this when swapping the drive from one system to another. The touchpad works, but the precision functionality is missing and gestures/etc do not work and performance is degraded.

Try installing the Intel Serial IO driver from the Dell support page. This may get the touchpad recognized again to enable the precision touchpad features.
