no bootable device when storage connected

Dell 5490 does not power on when M.2/SSD/HDD is connected to the board. As soon as the drives are removed the laptop starts up and displays no bootable device found. Tested all drives and bought replacement drives. problem persists. Tried different RAM as well. Stays on black screen when drives are connected.

Found a similar problem on YouTube(https://youtu.be/NdMPENnVAHU?si=h6G24MBb6eb6HuHS) but the fix did not work for me.

Hi

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/dell/latitude-14-(5490)

Could the SSD be of the wrong type??

Otherwise it may well be a Main Board issue.

@ann_droid Hi, I've tried 2 different m.2's and 2 different SSD's. It feels like when a drive is connected there is a short to ground or something
