Power supply insulation
I have a new Latitude 3340 in the UK. This is one of 400+ Latitudes we have bought over the last 3 years at work. Most of the laptops come with power bricks that have the Class 2FE symbol indicating double insulation with functional earth. This guides us to a certain testing regime.
The power brick that came with the 3340 doesn’t have any symbol for electrical insulation. It has lots of other compliance symbols but I don’t believe any conclusively mean the power brink is double insulated. We’ve asked Dell for a comment but not had a reply yet
I thought it was a requirement to include the electrical insulation class symbol on all power supplies. Even cheap 3rd party supplies have the relevant insulation symbol, at least the ones I’ve checked do.
Does anyone know the definitive position for the power supplies Dell is shipping - do we assume Class 1 as there is no symbol?
