Unknown device on Latitude
Hi everyone
Just installed Windows Pro on my Latitude E7240 and its showing an unknown device with this ID...
ACPI\VEN_DELL&DEV_ABCE
ACPI\DELLABCE
*DELLABCE
The laptop is running pretty much ok but when I plugged in my HP printer for the first time it seemed to download the driver but the printer didn't appear in the list of availble printers and I had to manually add it.
This wan't a prob when I was running windows home
I tried the dell support assistant but no luck.
I think I have installed all the necessary and up to date drivers from Dell but the Dell Airplane Mode Switch driver one wouldn't install for some reason.
Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation,
Tom

For anyone else who has this problem ( Dell Airplane Mode Switch driver installation failing), I was able to successfully install the driver on Windows 10 by choosing to *Extract* the files first - instead of directly installing the driver - at the first dialog box which appears when you run the NetworkDriver_PX8MM_.exe
I extracted them into a new empty folder under C:/Dell , then right-clicked on the Setup.exe in that folder and chose to run as Administrator.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Thetadd
Create a new folder on your desktop named “Airplane Update”
Then download the update.
Dell Airplane Mode Switch Driver:
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=px8mm&oscode=wt64a&productcode=latitude-e7240-ultrabook
Copy the update to that folder you just created.
Close all Windows and Apps you may have open.
Go to the folder and right click on the update file and “Run as Administrator”
Best regards,
U2

Hey All,
This worked for me on a Dell Inspiron 15-3525.
The Device Manager shows is as: Unknown Device
The Hardware ID: ACPI\VEN_DELL&DEV_ABCE
I installed as 'Administrator' as suggested and it worked perfectly.
Very Happy.

Hi
I have a Latitude E6430, and I am trying to connect my myrio with it, but unknown device error shows ion device manager, although there comes a sound of communication established when I connect my myrio with my pc but the serial monitor that is assumed to be pop up on my screen by myrio as claimed by NI is not showing.
I have applied the following remedies :
1. I uninstall the driver, update the driver, and finally reboot but no help.
2. I changed the USB advanced setting from power legacy option and turn it on disabled
3. I have scanned for hardware changes
4. I have updated all drivers of my pc from dell support assist
5. In the last, I have applied this trick too, but there is an error showing up on my screen while downloading this driver. Let me show the TXT file.

I have invested my whole week in resolving this problem and watched millions of tutorials on YouTube, but none of them is helping. Please help me to resolve this issue.
